Standard Wood Storm Sash
Wood Storm Sash Specifications:
Standard Wood Storm Sash are 1-1/8" in thickness. All sash are made the traditional way, from solid white pine for assembled sash or western red cedar for knock-down sash (no finger joints) with pinned, through mortise-and-tenon joinery. Sash made with 3/16" wide (eastern standard) or 1/4" wide (western standard) ogee sticking. Assembled sash are machine sanded and wood-preservative treated and supplied open, or glazed with single-strength or double-strength clear float glass. No priming or painting included.
Types of Storm Sash Available:
Storm sash are available in 3 levels of completion to suit your budget and amount of work you do to finish the sash:
1. Glazed Sash - Glazed Sash are made of white pine, assembled with steel sash pins, sanded, edge trimmed, immersion-treated in wood preservative, and putty-glazed with single-strength or double-strength float glass.
2. Open Sash - Open Sash are exactly as described above, except no glass is installed or included with the sash. Open sash are both less costly to make and to ship than glazed sash.
3. Knock-Down Sash - Knock-Down (K-D) sash are shipped unassembled. They are made of western red cedar and are to be assembled, sanded, trimmed, and glazed by the customer. K-D sash are the least costly to package and ship.
